The owner of this circa 1875 brownstone on Manhattan's upper-east side engaged us to convert this 4-family brownstone to single family use. An earlier renovation in the 1980's, by a previous owner, had removed almost all of the historic details from this once stately home. Our client, a publishing executive relocating from England, was seeking a home for her family as well as a place where she could entertain. Having previously owned a historic London townhouse, she wanted to recapture some of the lost historic architectural details while updating the house with modern amenities.

Our work included installation of historically accurate plaster cornices, doors, fireplace mantles, and door and window trims, and the restoration of the house's majestic staircase. The work also included the restoration of the brownstone façade of the building, along with the exterior iron work.

We completed the renovation in approximately five months and delivered to her a home of which they could be proud.
